Naomi passed away on May 11, 2015. Twenty years earlier she fought and won the "war" on breast cancer having done chemo and radiation. When it came back the summer of 2014 she told me she didn't want to go through chemo and radiation again. It was just too much. She said it was in God's hands. I was supposed to go visit her around May 18, 2015 but she passed before I could see her again.

She is survived by her son, Michael, his wife Molly and their two young children Kellen and Jamison Naomi and also her daughter Lindsey, her husband John and their 10 month old son Breckin Shore.

About 7 years ago or so Naomi changed her name Deering to Shore after a divorce. One thing I know Naomi was proud of before she passed is that she was over 25 years clean and sober.

I still miss her.

Naomi & I were friends from the moment we met in Gym class on the first day of 9th grade at Wiley Jr. High.  We remained friends all the way through High School.  Our lives took different paths but we kept in touch.  Naomi and her son lived with me for about 6 months during a difficult time in her life.  And my kids and I have fond memories of our time together.  Naomi's death hit me very hard because although she was now living back in Cleveland, we hadn't connected in the years she was ill.  I have come to terms with all of this.  I only wish that we had connected again before she passed.  Rest in Peace my friend.  And Peace and Comfort to your children and grandchildren.
