Are you planning to attend the reunion?

No I'm not going to be there. If you'd like to see me or contact me please do so. I'd love to reconnect with you.

What have you been up to since you graduated?

I was a stay-at-home mom until my kids were in school full time. Then I worked at various jobs until I had to retire due to Fibromyalgia in 2001. Since then I have written and published 5 books; 4 on humor and one on my journey with Fibromyalgia, "Chronic Pain Doesn't Have To Hurt, Shift Your Perception of Pain". I am also a Chronic Pain Management Coach and facilitate a Wellness Support Group in addition to one one one counseling.

What are your memories of high school (i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hang out, favorite teachers)?

Not many fond memories come to mind. Mostly just went to class and was out of the building before the last bell stopped ringing.

What did you do right after high school?

After graduation I attended Robert Morris Junior College for one semester. Then I worked as a chairside dental assistant until I married in 1970.

What did you want to do or think you were going to do when you finished high school?

I thought I would go to college and become a teacher. But that didn't happen. But I have become a teacher of sorts in my retirement, speaking to groups on effectively dealing with chronic pain and facilitating a chronic pain support group.

How old do you feel? Any gray hair yet?

Depends on the day. What's gray hair?

What would we be surprised to know about you?

That I flunked 9th grade English but am now a published author. How do you like that, Miss Morris?!?

Request up to 2 songs you would like to hear at the reunion

Loved Johnny Mathis and the Letterman and Bobby Goldsboro to name a few.

Babette, I remember you now. We both with to Silver's Temple, if I'm remembering correctly. I think you lived on Dysart Road down the street from me. Is that right? Anyway, it's a nice memory.

I knew Linda at Wiley and always admired the way her brother Jack treated her with such love and care.  Linda was a sweet girl and I was so sorry to hear of her tragic death.

I knew Carol from Heights and she, along with several other girls were either teased, bullied or at best, simply ingnored.  Today it wouldn't be tolerated, but back then we all just stayed quiet.  I recently reconnected with a classemate (name withheld) who also spoke of terrible bullying. She was told she was so ugly that should die. She said she was not attending the 50th reunion because she has no fond memories of school or the people in it.  BTW, today she is a lovely, successful person and I wish I had befriended her back then. But we just didn't know what other people were going through.  Did we?

Naomi & I were friends from the moment we met in Gym class on the first day of 9th grade at Wiley Jr. High.  We remained friends all the way through High School.  Our lives took different paths but we kept in touch.  Naomi and her son lived with me for about 6 months during a difficult time in her life.  And my kids and I have fond memories of our time together.  Naomi's death hit me very hard because although she was now living back in Cleveland, we hadn't connected in the years she was ill.  I have come to terms with all of this.  I only wish that we had connected again before she passed.  Rest in Peace my friend.  And Peace and Comfort to your children and grandchildren.
