What have you been up to since you graduated?
I own a video taping business in the Washington, D.C. area.
Some of you probably remember that during my senior year I worked for Jane Scott of the Plain Dealer, where I wrote the first article announcing that the Beatles would be having a concert in Cleveland. Reporting became my passion, which brings me to today as this has been a strange week, losing two sports icons that I had the pleasure of meeting: Muhammad Ali and Gordie Howe.
I was hired by the Ali family to video tape his President's Citizen Award presented by President Clinton at the White House. I was privileged to have met Ali, his wife, President Clinton, and Elizabeth Taylor, who also received an award. I met Gordie Howe at the Capital Centre where he was presenting an award and I was refereeing the shoot out between periods. These were two incredible moments for me and now both of these icons are gone in the same week.
